As far as I can tell, it's much better compared to Google's stadia. But if you check the Nvidia forum, they are constantly expanding the game library. Granted, some games are not supported for GFN and even some supported ones may not be optimized for android. I can get it run for 4~5 hours using GFN. Since GFN is basically a streaming service, most heavy lifting is actually not done on my Switch. If I run any games on my Switch portable, it only can last about 2-3 hours.

And it looks great on the 720P screen.LMAO Not to mention the docked mode on TV looks amazing now.Īnother benefit of running games on the cloud is less power consumption.

I can max out all the settings on Borderlands 3 and still get 85+FPS. But with GFN, everything is done in Nvidia data center, with the powerful Tesla P40 GPU.

If you have played any big titles on Switch in portable mode, you know the visuals look like crap.

I don't even need a powerful PC to run the games locally. I can now play most of my steam games on my Switch, with the maximum setting, little to none lags. Man, this Geforce Now just completely changed my switch to a whole new level.

If you are interested there are multiple reviews on GFN and you can read on:Ĭurrently, it supports PC, Mac, Android and Nvidia Shield (holding my iPhone )īut, with some tweaks and hacks (based on this Youtube Video ), here's my experience with GFN on my Nintendo Switch:Īfter some initial figuring out, I got my Nintendo Switch with an Android System (+ Nvidia Shield Identifier). GFN can access your game library service and let you play where you left on. Compared to other known services (like Google's Stadia), this service is considerably beneficial for gamers already built a good steam/epic/uplay library. Oh, and Kingdom Hearts 4? Sure, we'll see that in a decade or two.Just a brief overview of what is this Geforce Now (GFN) service is: It's a cloud computing service for gaming, which means the Nvidia data center will run your games at their facility and stream the video to your device(s). Maybe the best Final Fantasy really is getting a ground-up remake. Final Fantasy 9 is the one closest to my heart and the one I would've assumed had no chance in hell of happening, except that Square Enix is also, extremely randomly, developing a FF9 animated series. The fantastic 2010 remake never even got a mobile port the way FFT did, which means it's been marooned on the PlayStation Portable for a decade.Ĭhrono Cross absolutely deserves the same treatment as Square Enix's other "HD" ports of its PlayStation games-well, better treatment, really, because as we've seen with AI upscaling, Square's official releases can really be improved on. It's ludicrous FFT wasn't on PC years ago, and Tactics Ogre would be the cherry on top. Set up your Geforce Now account and link your steam/epic accounts. Go to the Geforce Now website and download the client, if on windows/mac. But Chrono Cross Remaster, Tactics Ogre Remaster and Final Fantasy 9 Remake are all incredibly tantalizing. Steps: - Use your VPN to connect to a location where the service is available (France/Netherlands is recommended). Square Enix has been hyping up Tomb Raider's 25th this year, so a new remake or HD port of Tomb Raider Anniversary seems plausible.

Scalebound, for example, is on there, and that's been dead for years. There are also games on the list that have likely or definitely been canceled. There's an easy answer in this case, though: Nvidia had a partnership with Nintendo to put Wii games like New Super Mario Bros on the Shield in China. Nintendo might let Sega release Bayonetta 3 on PC despite funding its development, but Mario? Unlikely.

Bayonetta 3 and New Super Mario Bros are both on there, for example, and both are published by Nintendo. This doesn't mean that every unreleased game on the list is currently in development, or is guaranteed to come out on PC. And it's looking like more games will continue to be confirmed: The Helldivers Twitter account is teasing some sort of announcement, and Helldivers 2, sure enough, is on the Nvidia list. With so many examples, there's no way the unannounced games on the list were all speculative.
